Finca Vista Hermosa in Santa Rosa, Guatemala, is led by producer Fredy Orantes, who has dedicated the last 20 years to specialty coffee production. Inspired by his father and grandfather’s legacy, Fredy’s humble journey started with seeds gifted by a friend. From there, he immersed himself in coffee processing, varietal exploration, and cupping protocols, always pushing to refine quality and consistency.
Nestled among volcanoes and biodiverse landscapes the farm spans 11.9 hectares of coffee; primarily Gesha. Fredy works alongside his wife and daughters, who meticulously verify both the physical defects and sensory attributes of each lot, ensuring full traceability from tree to cup.
Fredy’s natural process coffees stem from hands on experimentation and collaboration with fellow producers. Ripe cherries are hand selected with precision, sealed in bags for 48 hours of controlled fermentation to build depth and sweetness, then dried slowly on raised African beds over 20–25 days to concentrate flavours evenly.
